How to use this online service
Online Process of Reservation and Ticket Purchase
The reservation and ticket purchase must be made at the same time through this online service. Your reservation cannot be completed without ticket purchase. Ticket purchase for reservations already created by other services cannot be accepted.
Online Ticket Purchase Period
Reservation and Ticket Purchases may be made from 8 months up until 5 days* before departure.
Number of Travellers
Reservations can be made for up to four passengers (including the applicant) in one transaction. However this service is not available when an adult travels with 2 or more infants or for children under 12 years old if not accompanied by an adult.
(A child is defined as between 2 and 11 years and an infant is from birth until the 2nd birthday at time of first flight departure.)
Type of Itinerary
This online reservation and ticket purchase service is available for published round-trip, Normal one-way, or open jaw travel from Australia (Sydney, Brisbane).
Waitlists are not accepted through this service.
If you would like to reserve a flight which is not available through this online service, or waitlist a fully-booked flight, please call Japan Airlines Reservations.
Fares
Fares, taxes, and other charges are not guaranteed until ticketed. We will contact the passenger if there is a difference on the exchange rate or a system error. Additionally, if the system is unable to calculate the airfare automatically, you will not be able to complete the online ticket purchase application.
Payment
Payment must be made by credit card. The credit card holder must be same as the applicant.
The following credit cards can be accepted:
VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, DINERS CLUB, JCB and JALCARD.
The transaction will be processed by Japan Airlines Sydney Office.
The process from application to delivery
When your purchase has been completed /or/ is complete, we will issue a confirmation notice and forward it to the registered e-mail address. (Please provide your e-mail address)
Please keep the e-mail as the confirmation of your travel.
The e-ticket* will be issued after verifying your request.
Upon issuance, JAL will e-mail the e-ticket Itinerary/Receipt to your e-mail address.
If an e-ticket Itinerary/Receipt has not been received within five days after completing the purchase, please contact Japan Airlines Sydney JAL Ticket Service 1300 JAL AUS | 1300 525 287 (Mon-Fri : 09:00-17:00 / Sat., Sun., Holidays : Closed ).
e-ticket
An e-ticket is a ticket held in JAL's computer system and flight coupons are not printed.
When an itinerary permits, JAL will issue an e-ticket instead of a paper ticket.
Please keep your e-ticket Itinerary/Receipt with you throughout your journey.
Tickets, including e-tickets, are not transferable. We cannot change the passenger name on the ticket after it is purchased.
Refund
When you complete the application, we will start the issuing process of your ticket.
After submitting the application, cancellations of tickets may be subject to refund charge.
Reconfirmation and Changes
Reconfirmation, changes or cancellations are not available through this online service.

All schedules and aircraft types are subject to change without prior notice, such schedules are all subject to government approval.
Insurance Surcharge
To cover the cost of extra safety and security measures, an insurance surcharge will be added to the price of tickets.
We highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
  Amount of Insurance Surcharge
International Flights US$3.20 per person for each segment to be flown or the equivalent amount
Japan Domestic Flights 300Yen per person for each segment to be flown
1. The insurance surcharge shall be collected in addition to the applicable air fares and charges.
2. The insurance surcharge does not affect applicable conditions of the fares or other charges.
3. When a ticket is presented for refund, the full amount of the insurance surcharge shall be returned.
4. The insurance surcharge is a fixed amount and shall apply to all passengers (including infants) .
5. Where necessary, the insurance surcharge will be converted at the applicable exchange rate.
Special Requests
Special requests other than advanced seat assignment and special meals cannot be requested through this online service. For these other services listed below, advance information or additional preparation may be required. - Unaccompanied minors from 5 years to 11 years of age
*Minors under 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Passengers travelling with 2 or more children under 2 years old
- Expectant mothers travelling after the 36th week of pregnancy.
- Passengers using wheelchairs
- Passengers with sight or hearing impediments

Please present all necessary travel documentation upon check-in.
For passengers on U.S., Canadian and Australian routes
Passenger Reservation Records may be subject to access by the U.S., Canadian and Australian government authorities.
